Tessera

Privacy policy

Effective 17 October 2026. Applies to the Tessera app for Android (package com.nktools.tessera), published by NK Tools.

Tessera is a jigsaw puzzle game. This page explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. You don't create an account, and we don't sell your personal information.

Information that stays on your phone

Your puzzles in progress, finished puzzles, coins, daily check-in streak and settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.

Your photos

If you make a puzzle from one of your photos, you choose it with Android's photo picker, which gives Tessera only that one picture. Tessera copies it into its own private storage on your phone so the puzzle keeps working. Photos are never uploaded, shared or seen by us. Long-press a photo in the app to remove it; the original in your gallery is not touched.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Tessera is free and shows a banner ad and optional rewarded videos through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Tessera under Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings.

Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)

To understand which features are used, the app may send anonymous usage events to Google Firebase Analytics, such as starting or finishing a puzzle, the number of pieces, using a hint, earning or spending coins, and collecting the daily check-in. These events are tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or email. Firebase may also collect basic device information such as model and operating-system version.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Tessera shows an evening reminder to collect your daily check-in. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and need no internet connection or server. You can turn them off in Settings or in Android's notification settings.

Children

Tessera is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us below.

Data security and retention

Data sent to Google's advertising and analytics services travels over encrypted connections and is kept according to Google's policies. Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
